Description

Score: 98 pts James Suckling

Iscay Malbec – Cabernet Franc 2021 is Trapiche’s flagship wine, a creation that represents the union of viticulture and winemaking as a blend of science and art. Crafted by winemaker Sergio Casé, this blend comes from selected vineyards in Cruz de Piedra (Maipú) and Altamira (Valle de Uco), where each variety contributes its identity to achieve a wine of outstanding precision and elegance.

"Profound yet fresh nose with a flowery and peppery lift from the blackberries, chiles, chocolate and mountain herbs. Fresh, fine tannins spread across the palate with juicy fruit and a very long, expressive finish. Tannins are tight but grainy and polished."

Deep purple in color, it reveals aromas of violets, ripe red fruit, and subtle spicy notes. On the palate it is deep and juicy, with firm yet polished tannins, vibrant freshness, and a long, expressive, refined finish. Malbec brings volume and texture, while Cabernet Franc adds tension, freshness, and precision, resulting in a sophisticated, character-driven wine.
