| DescriptionD.V. Catena Tinto Histórico 2023 pays tribute to Don Domingo Vicente Catena, who became famous in the 1930s for his delicious dark red blends served in Buenos Aires' premier bistros as the finest wine from Mendoza. Crafted as an assemblage of Malbec, Bonarda, and Petit Verdot, this wine blends grapes from four distinct high-altitude vineyard sites across Mendoza—Lunlunta, Gualtallary, Eugenio Bustos, and El Mirador—harvested separately to express the diversity of their soils and microclimates. Fermented with native yeasts and aged for 8 to 14 months in French oak barrels, it stands as a celebrated homage to a true master of assemblage. "In the glass, it reveals a deep, dark violet color with intense aromatic complexity. The nose unfolds layers of ripe red and black fruits, plum, sweet spices, and delicate herbal undertones. On the palate, it is smooth, round, and harmonious, offering a silky texture, fine-grained tannins, and a well-balanced acidity that leads to a long, persistent, and elegant finish."
