Description

This aromatic, floral, and elegant Bonarda is blended with 15% Cabernet Franc, sourced from El Mirador in Rivadavia. Fresh and expressive, it shows moderate alcohol at 13.5%, juicy fruit, and fine-grained tannins. Aging for 15 months in old oak vats adds subtle complexity while preserving purity and balance.

The old Bonarda vines, trained in pergolas over sandy soils in El Mirador, Rivadavia (650 m a.s.l.), were close to being uprooted when Alejandro Vigil discovered them. He rescued five hectares, now dedicated to crafting El Enemigo Bonarda. Bonarda—an increasingly important variety in Argentina with deep Italian roots—delivers wines that are complex yet approachable, with friendly tannins and seductive aromas. Once mainly used in blends, it now stands as Argentina’s second most planted red variety, just behind Malbec.
