WINERY DESCRIPTION

In the Maipú department, 30 kilometers from Mendoza—the capital of Argentina’s most important wine province—lies the bucolic area of Cruz de Piedra, ironically self-proclaimed by locals as the “Republic of Chachingo.” There, in 2009, Adrianna Catena, PhD in History from the University of Oxford and daughter of Nicolás Catena, owner of Catena Zapata, together with Alejandro Vigil, the brilliant winemaker and technical director of the family winery, established their own winemaking project.
The young winery, named Aleanna, soon became better known by the name of its wines: El Enemigo.
