Description
Sapo de Otro Pozo Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon is an imposing, structured, and highly expressive red blend crafted from a meticulous selection of estates across the Uco Valley, situated between 1,000 and 1,300 meters above sea level. Fermented in concrete vats, the different Malbec components are vinified separately in small concrete vessels, while specific fermentation tasks are prioritized for the Cabernet Sauvignon to maximize its fruit character and core structure. Sixty percent of the wine is aged for 10 to 12 months in second and third-use French oak barrels, while the remaining 40% rests in concrete pools before the final blend is assembled, resulting in a complex profile that balances freshness with volume.
"On the nose, the wine reveals distinctive notes of mature red bell peppers, dark chocolate, and red fruits. On the palate, it is highly structured and fruity, displaying soft, well-rounded tannins. The blend gracefully integrates the structural backbone, depth, and firm tannins of Cabernet Sauvignon with the vibrant freshness, intensity, and characteristic smoothness of Malbec, leading to a long and lingering finish."
