Description
Malamado Solería is an exclusive fortified white wine crafted from 100% Torrontés, inspired by the traditional aging methods used for the world's finest fortified wines. Produced in Maipú and Santa Rosa, Mendoza, it combines the intense aromatic character of Argentina's signature Torrontés with extended oxidative aging, resulting in remarkable complexity, depth, and elegance. Presented in an elegant 500 ml bottle, it is ideal for sharing after dinner or enjoying on special occasions.
The grapes are harvested manually during the last week of April. After a six-hour skin maceration and controlled fermentation, the wine is fortified with Torrontés grape spirit once it reaches 221 g/L of residual sugar, preserving the perfect balance between sweetness, freshness, and structure. It is then aged for 40 months in fourth-use barrels, previously used for premium Chardonnay, which remain exposed to direct sunlight, encouraging slow oxidative evolution and creating its distinctive aromatic profile.
On the nose, it displays an exceptionally complex bouquet with aromas of dried figs, walnuts, roasted chestnuts, dried apricots, orange peel, honey, beeswax, and honeycomb. The palate is rich, luscious, and intensely flavored, revealing notes of golden raisins, anise, candied kumquats, and dates in syrup, leading to a long, elegant, and persistent finish.
Perfect as a meditation wine or paired with blue cheeses, foie gras, nut-based desserts, or fine pastries, Malamado Solería is a unique interpretation of Argentine fortified wines, where time, tradition, and meticulous craftsmanship come together in every bottle.
