Mosquita Muerta Black Malbec is a high-altitude Malbec from the Uco Valley, Mendoza, crafted from vineyards located in two different mountain zones that provide complexity, structure, and elegance. The wine is a blend of Malbec from Los Árboles (1,450 meters above sea level) and Gualtallary (1,500 meters above sea level), where the large thermal amplitude produces small berries with thick skins, resulting in wines with great structure, fruit intensity, and aging potential.
Both Malbec parcels are harvested at the same time and co-fermented. Fermentation takes place in concrete eggs, epoxy-lined tanks, and vertical vats at low temperatures with continuous contact with the skins. The wine is then aged in neutral French oak barrels for 10 to 14 months, followed by 6 months of bottle aging, allowing the wine to integrate and gain complexity without excessive oak influence.
On the nose and palate, the wine shows the character of a mountain Malbec, with fresh fruit, herbal notes, balanced acidity, and depth. It is a full-bodied wine with structure, freshness, and long aging potential, combining fruit intensity with elegance and mountain freshness typical of the Uco Valley.
