Description
Zuccardi Fósil 2023 is an exceptional, sharp, and deeply expressive high-altitude white wine sourced from the extreme and cold climate of IG San Pablo in Tunuyán, Uco Valley, situated at 1,400 meters above sea level. Grown on alluvial soils characterized by a layer of medium gravels covered in calcareous elements, this pure Chardonnay is crafted following a meticulous bunch selection and gravity-fed into concrete vats. Fermented with native yeasts and aged entirely in concrete vessels without undergoing malolactic fermentation, it stands as a brilliant testament to its mountain terroir, guided by a philosophy of capturing pure fruit expression and place over cellar intervention.
"Showing a brilliant and pristine clarity in the glass, the nose reveals an immense complexity of aromas alongside a profound purity and sharpness typical of this extreme mountain oasis. On the palate, it enters with remarkable precision and energy, showcasing a vibrant, electric natural acidity that gives it a tense, vertical structure. Its stony and calcareous origins translate into a long, persistent, and refreshing finish." (Note: As official tasting notes were not explicitly provided in the technical sheet, this description was crafted based on its specific mountain terroir, grape variety, and concrete-driven vinification methods).
